Morag Stewart

Morag has recently retired following an eighteen year career in Public Health. As deputy director of public health she was responsible for commissioning services to improve health and wellbeing. In this role, she worked closely with local authority counsellors and managers as well as managers within the NHS. She gained valuable experience in staff, budget and project management.

Prior to joining Public Health, Morag was head of physical education in a Bedfordshire Upper school, having previously worked at schools in both Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.

Since retiring, Morag is a keen golfer and still enjoys hill walking, skiing and generally keeping fit. She works as a volunteer at her local church and community centre supporting groups which cater for both children and adults.

As a member of the team BEDS&LUTON board, she is the representative from the main Active Luton board and provides public health knowledge and expertise when required.
