Johnathan Rudland

Having newly joined teamBEDS&LUTON in August 2020, I am excited by the challenge to make Bedfordshire more active.

I've worked in sports development and project management in the leisure and international education sector in previous roles. My passion is creating opportunities for all to get physically active in whatever way they want to.

I have been lucky to be involved in large scale projects including Beat the Street, Children in Need and Activity on Referral where a behaviour change model was used to develop long term impact to peoples physical activity attitude.

I came to the area in 2008 where I studied at the University of Bedfordshire where I was introduced to the sport of dodgeball which opened my eyes to the range of sports and activities available coming from a traditional sporting background previously.

Outside of work, I sit on the board of British Dodgeball as the Director of National Teams, having previously managed both GB Dodgeball and England Dodgeball who successfully won two gold at the last world cup in 2018.
