Fitness came into my life during a time I was feeling a little bit lonely and redundant as my son was hitting his teenage years and didn't need me as much. What started as something to fill my time became so much more, enhancing every aspect of my life, giving me new focus and energy and I made lots of new friends. In 2016 I decided I wanted to share this gift with others and (rather stupidly!) handed my notice in with my current job to embark on a full time career teaching classes. It was a real rollercoaster ride as I was starting out, working 7 days a week and qualifying in lots of different things including Zumba, Clubbercise, Aqua, BodyPump, Spin, BodyCombat, BodyAttack, Pilates and Yoga but I loved every minute of it and never once regretted my decision.

When the pandemic hit in 2020 I felt that all of my hardwork was crumbling around me and was at one of my lowest points in my life. However, with the support of some wonderful people from my gym classes, I managed to set up classes online and then outside and we turned a negative into such a positive as we all embraced the great British weather and had so much fun whilst keeping ourselves active (and sometimes sane!) in such challenging circumstances.

Now we are back to the gyms and leisure centres I can honestly say that every single class I teach to every single participant is an absolute honour, privilege and pleasure. Seeing the joy on people's faces as they just let go into the music and into their own little worlds of freedom and happiness is wonderful. I also constantly see friendships being formed and people's confidence growing from attending the sessions and making connections with others.

My aim is to show that physical activity can be fun and doesn't have to feel like a chore, and the more we fall in love with looking after ourselves both physically and mentally the more we can all reap the benefits of that in every aspect of our lives.
